The legacy of Saint Dimitry of Rostov, Metropolitan of Rostov and Yaroslavl’ (1651-1709), the Orthodox saint and one of the most prominent Slavonic authors, has always attracted much attention. His works have been the obj ect of study of both Russian and foreign scholars. The paper puts forward one of the most topical issues in the study of Dimitry’s writing, namely unresearched, unpublished and previously unavailable works of the Saint. These are discovered in manuscript collections which were compiled and came out of Rostov scriptorium (some of them are original manuscripts from the Metropolitan’s library), as well as in collections of his sermons. The paper examines main manuscripts with these texts from the National Library of Russia, State Historical Museum, Russian State Archive of Ancient Records. The author of the paper, on the one hand, summarises and analyses previous studies of this topic (the works of I. A. Shlyapkin, A. A. Kruming, L. A. Yankovskaya and others) and, on the other hand, makes available new, unknown and unpublished works of Saint Dimitry of Rostov. These include hagiographic texts (brief Lives of Saints for September), sermons on moveable and fixed feasts, dramatic texts (the declamation «Repentant Sinner»), historical works («Historical Calender») and hymnographic writings («Service for the Saint Nine Martyrs of Cyzicus»). The author considers that sermons constitute one of the largest parts of Saint Dimitry’s legacy. The problems of attribution of many speeches and homilies (i.e. the authorship of certain texts) are therefore still topical and are paid special attention.
