The letter of archimandrite Tickhon (Bellavin), who later became Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, in support of bible scholar hieromonk Antonin (Granovsky), appears for the fi rst time. Bible scholar Antonin was Tikhon’s employee at the Kholmskaya Spiritual Seminary; later they were separated by the Church dissent of 1920s.This article is based on documents regarding the case of publication of the Antonin’s academic monography «The book of Baruch», which is now housed in the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts, f. 1184. Thanks to this publication case we know that in the hour of need the book-wise hieromonk Antonin got a helping hand from his rector archimandrite Tikhon. The meaning of this source is also claryfi ed in the context of pre-revolutionary Bible studies history and in connection with the history of dissents in the Russian Church in 1920s.
