Abstract
The article is devoted to the comparative analysis of academic missions abroad of teachers and graduates of Russian ecclesiastical academies and universities. For the first time the author studies the role of scientific visits abroad in the development of Russian science of the XIX-th — the beginning of XX-th centuries. He compares the academic missions and classifies them according their motivation and purpose; organization and the registration of an office work; sponsorship, rights and duties of travelers; geographical directions and results.

Abstract
The author deals with pilgrim trips to the Holy Places — the Holy Land and the Holy Mt. Athos, — which were undertaken by teachers and students of Russian orthodox ecclesiastical academies in 1870-1910. The article covers the cases of these pilgrim trips. The author analyzes the motivation of concrete pilgrims and the significance of trips for a Russian ecclesiastical school. Besides, the author pays attention to efforts of spiritually-educational community to find the importance of the Holy Places for theological and ecclesiastical-historical sciences.

Abstract
The article covers the important stage of mutual relations between the Soviet state and the Russian Church in the first five-year plans, industrialisation and collectivisation time. These global events have influenced on both internal policy of the state and its policy towards religion. The author relying on the mass of archival sources investigates the features of this policy in 1920-1930.

Abstract
Published sermons of martyr Thaddaeus (Uspensky), the archbishop of the Tver diocese, were preached at churches of Zhitomir, Astrakhan and, mainly, Saratov in the 1920 th. The texts of sermons were found in the archival case of layman A.A. Solovev. The historical significance of the sermons is the coverage of the uninvestigated period of holy hierarch’s service in the Saratov diocese.

Abstract
The published document is the report of L.N. Parijskiy, the employee of the Moscow Patriarchate, about results of his visit to North America. The travel of the commission consisting of metropolitan Gregory (Tchukhov) and L.N. Parijskiy, occurred in 1947. The visit’s purpose consisted in the decision of the questions concerning the restoration of the dialogue between the Moscow Patriarchy and the North American Metropolitanate. The report of Parjsky became one of the documents characterizing the church situation in America. The document informs about the situation covering parishes of Moscow Patriarchy in North America and contains characteristics of the basic leaders of Russian Orthodoxy in the USA and Canada.

The publication is dedicated to the zealous church votary, leading a lot of years in prison, closest friend of prelate Athanasius (Sakharov) — hieromonk Hierarchus (Bocharov). The publication covers 19 letters from the church-historical archive of PSTGU. The letters concern the period between 1954 and 1957. The first published letters were sent from the Bereznikovsk house for invalids, former prisoners, then from Mordovian village Shingarino where his spiritual daughter Nina Vladimirovna Trapani lived, from Moscow and Vladimir where hieromonk passed away.
