Abstract

In this article the author investigates before unexamined church utensils, icons in silver casings and other silver goods of the XVIth - XVIIth centuries. All of them represent deposits in the Great Ustyug temples and monasteries made by Stroganovs. The author atributes a lot of monuments of ancient Russian art saved in the Great Ustyug museum on the base of the complex analysis. Research of silver goods doing in this article is founded both on the analysis of the style, tipology, technological methods inherent the works of Old Russian masters and on the studying of writing sources and inscriptions on the goods. The new information received by the author is the convincing proof of making Stroganovs’ precious goods mentioned above in their art and technical studios.
